Everyone send me your congratulations! I've popped the question and Kim said yes! We're gonna get married!
Everyone asks for details, so I'll write them here so everyone can just read them and stop asking me.
I asked her on Friday morning. We were in bed, just waking up to go to work. I got up early to go let the dogs out (we have four dogs between us, and they're not allowed upstairs). Once they were up and active I brought them all upstairs with me and let them all get into bed so Kim could be surrounded with wriggling puppies (ok - so the youngest is 2 years old, but they'll always be puppies to us). Then I asked her if she was sure she wanted to keep me and all these dogs. She said yes. So I asked her if she would marry me and gave her the ring. After a shocked pause, she said yes again.
The ring is a three stone (3 diamonds) ring with a white gold band. The band was apparently rare enough that I had to get the jewler to order it for me - no one I went to actually had it in stock. The diamonds are all nice stones and it's very sparkly (the important part) - everyone of Kim's friends have said I did a really good job. <plug>I got the ring downtown at Worthmore Jewelry - well worth the visit for any of your jewlery needs due to their great prices.</plug>
