I just realized that I put up a post about Apress books (which I happen to think are great books from great authors) and I failed to mention one of the most innovative marketing campaigns I've ever seen come out of the publishing world. Time to market makes all the difference, especially in the publishing world, right? Apress has just released a great new concept - betaBooks. You get to start reading the book before it's even completed. This is a fantastic idea, especially if you're working on a project and you can't find the book you want on the market.
