I got married this past weekend! The rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, and the reception afterwards - everything was so much fun and I'm so glad that so many people could come share the time with us. Those of you who could make it - Thank you! Those of you who were invited but couldn't make it and those of you who couldn't be invited due to budgetary and space limitations - I'm sorry and both Kim and I missed you.
After the wedding and the receptions, as I was up in the bridal suite with Kim, we sat and chatted about how much fun we had and how quickly everything seemed to fly by. I think we finally fell asleep around 12:30, but I was up again at 2am. I just couldn't sleep. I was so excited and had so much going through my head that I got up and wrote for a bit, tried to sleep some more, and finally gave it all up and went downstairs to sit in the lobby at 4am.
Here's one of the things I wrote down that night at 2am:
The parents of friends I met through Kim and that I barely know as well as I need to kept telling me the nicest things. The fact that these friends and their PARENTS feel so close to Kim and I, that's a testament to the woman who chose me. She is so loved by the very families of her friends that I have new sets of parents and grandparents all over the SouthEast.
The children around us were beautiful: Devlyn with the Devil's own smile, Piper with the eyes of an angel, Max is a veritable force of nature and Maggie is sweeter than sugar. Dominic is the most gentle and cultured soul at only 5 years old while Jayna is a beauty terrible to behold (she's going to wreck men, just give her time). The children who weren't at the party, Sammy and Ethan, and the children on the way, Jacobs, Silverberg, Levine, and Chervasio. These are all my family now and Kim and I are truly blessed to be part of these lives.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a memorable event.
