If you are a developer and want to be able to make changes to macros and such, make sure you enable to developer tab when you start up Office.
1. Right click in the Ribbon bar
2. Customize Quick Access Toolbar
3. Select the Personalize tab
4. Check the “Show Developer tab in the Ribbon”
