SharePoint 2007 and CSLA presentations at the Atlanta Dot Net meeting

Last night, 68 people gathered to watch Brendon Schwartz give an introductory presentation about the upcoming SharePoint 2007 technologies.  Brendon had a lot of interest in the topic from the audience, and an especially inquisitive pair had a bunch of questions about how Microsoft Dynamics CRM fit into the picture.  If you’re local to Atlanta and are interested in SharePoint, specifically Windows SharePoint Services 2003 (the newest release currently out on the market), then be sure to check out the currently running SharePoint 1, 2, 3! training series.

Doug Ware filled the rest of the time talking about Magenic Technologies’ chief evangelist Rocky Lhotka’s CSLA.  CSLA stands for Component-based Scalable Logical Architecture and is based upon building business objects.  The theory is that the architecture lends itself to high performance scalable systems in distributed environments.  Doug gave a great overview of some architecture concepts before talking about CSLA.  During the CSLA presentation, Doug made some evocative comments, “The web sucks” being chief among them.

Anyway – after the presentations several of the UG meeting attendees went to a local eatery for food and more conversation.  More about those conversations in upcoming posts.
