The Michael C Carlos Museum of Emory University is hosting an exhibition of ancient Roman artifacts from August 5th to October 22nd. The neat thing is that these artifacts are from the Italian mainland near Naples but were buried by the same volcanic reuption that buried Pompeii, meaning that they are extremely well preserved. The other neat thing is that this specific exhibit is of material found in the vacation villas of the extremely wealthy Romans. If you are at all interested, you should definitely check this out. I’ve been to the museum once before and it’s a great little antiquities museum.
